My mother started in the business when I was seven and my sister when I was fourteen. Spending most of my time  in the salon growing up it was pretty easy for me to get behind the chair.

I am very thankful for what has turned out to be a long, successful career.  I started in the early 80's as a platform Artist for L'Image Cosmetics, following that I did work for Indianapolis Monthly, Indianapolis Woman, Fox 59 Morning Show and hair design for Civic, Footlight, and Warren Summerfest Theaters.

Upon obtaining my Practical nursing license I went to work in the healthcare field were I worked until  Anthony and I started the first version of Snips. While nursing it became apparent that the needs of the salon were growing beyond just hair and I went to Cut Above Beauty college to study the art of skincare.

I am a 2009 graduate of the David Demuth Institute of Cosmetology. I strive to always be on the cutting edge of new techniques. Having grown up in the small town setting of Richmond, Indiana,  I have a connection with the Irvington neighborhood and appreciate the unity that the community has.

As a graduate of Amber's School of Cosmetology in 1992, I have been in the hair industry for over fifteen years and absolutely love what I do!!!

As a lifelong resident of the Eastside, I am proud to be a member of the SNIPS professional team. My Husband and I are both Scecina and IU graduates.

Hello, my name is Kathryn (Kat) Sims. In high school I gained an appreciation for the art of hair styling and decided to sign up for a course in cosmetology.

Born and raised in Anderson, IN. I started my journey as a hairstylist at Kaye's Beauty College in Noblesville, IN. My initial inspiration for entering the Fashion Industry was my own experience with styling my hair. I have always enjoyed the idea of an alternative style, and that comes through in the work I do.
